At Grand Rapids Voice Collective, above and beyond is our standard company policy. Our community Impact goals are no different. We have thought long and hard about how we want to use our voices to make the world a better place.
Here’s what we are committed to doing to support arts organizations in the Greater Grand Rapids area during the 2020/2021 season.
Community Focus - For the Fall & Spring Recital, the studio will choose a local organization to raise awareness and funds. Our goal is to donate $3000 for each of the two organizations. To help us reach our fundraising goal, one of the things we're doing is hosting a Practice-A-Thon! Singers will pledge a number of hours they hope to practice before the fall & spring recital over a set number of weeks. Then they’ll ask their family, friends, (teachers?!) for donations to support their practice. We are so excited to raise our voices for a good cause!
Music & Theatre Educator Workshops - The Staff at GRVC is dedicated to supporting our educator friends on the front lines. We offer pay-what-you-can workshops to K-12 teachers in topics ranging from college auditions 101, peak performance coaching, artistry & expression through storytelling in the choral classroom, musical theatre auditions, and more. Proceeds from these workshops will provide lessons for talented folx who can't afford private lessons.
